On the Lift going up!

We officially made it back from Telluride with no broken legs or bones. We are very, very sore though. It has been a while since we have used some of our arms and leg muscles that much. The bus ride up was so long. We left Thursday morning 3 hours early to try and beat the storm that was coming into Phoenix. We ended up having to take 2 detours because the 17 was closed. The way we went we barely made it through because they were closing the roads literally right behind us. We were able to stay one step ahead of the storm the whole way there and make it there safely in 12 hours. Normally this is an 8 hour trip so it was a long time to be on that bus. We ended up getting in around 7pm and unloaded all our stuff in about 3 feet of snow. The snow was just coming down on us the whole time. We ended up just walking into town and getting a bite to eat for dinner that night because we would be getting up early on Friday to be first ones on the lift. We ended up being first ones on the lift every day and got to enjoy riding in fresh powder for our first couple of runs. The sun came out around 9 out there and just made the day gorgeous. Even though it is cold for my taste, it is so beautiful seeing all the snow on the mountains.
I was a little rusty on my first run but then got back into the groove of it after that. We pretty much snowboarded from the minute the lifts opened til them closing with a few breaks in between for the next 3 days. I was able to work on riding on my toes some more and did pretty good. (Had a few crashes while doing so though). I also did my first tree run and that was crazy! It was so awesome at the same time though. I just followed Heith's lead and went really slow. While I was practicing my toes Heith went over to the other side of the mountain at 12,650 sq feet up and checked out Revalation Bowl that just opened. It was really fast and just okay he said. Maybe next year I will check it out. We went into town for dinner on Saturday night to Smugglers. Heith loves their ribs there. We took the galloping goose (bus that drives around the town) because it was really cold that night. The bus got back around 11:00pm on Sunday night and by the time we got home and unloaded and laid in bed it was probably 12:15am in the morning. We both had to work Monday morning so it was a long day. I think we are pretty much recuperated now but it was a fun trip!
