Birthday weekend!

Well Friday was my 27th Birthday....wow I am getting old! I don't feel 27 though so I guess that is a good thing. I had a nice day. Work was nice, Kathy had decorated my whole desk with balloons and crate paper. After work Heith and I met my parents for dinner at Olive Garden in Chandler. It was so yummy. The plan was to eat a huge amount of Pasta so I could have energy for the Pat Tillman race the next day that I was running. It was really nice to spend dinner with my parents. After dinner Heith and I just went home because we both had to be up really early the next morning. Saturday I was up at 5am to head down to Tempe for the race. There were sooooo many people there. I think they said like 15,000 people were there to run it. There were 4 of us that ran together and we all did great. I am so proud of us because we ran the whole thing and didn't stop. Not sure if any of you remember but my friend Mira and I ran a 5k back in January and I had to walk 2 times to catch my breath so this time around knowing that I was running a 4.2 mile run I thought for sure I would have to walk at some point. But I didn't......I really tried focusing on my breathing and relaxing and it was soooo cool I am still in shock that I didn't have to stop. It was a really cool feeling. I ended up getting like 6,000th place but whatever! :) I am so proud of my best friend Chantelle too who ran it with us. She did so good and got 3rd place in her weight division. I made a shirt for me to wear that says Monka Rocks which is her nick name and I made one for her little girl Lindsey to wear as well. They turned out cute. Well here we are after the race, outside of Wildflower Bread Company. We went there for some breakfast and so did about 1/4 of the runners.

Chantelle, Me and Mira

After breakfast I took Mira home and checked out her nice cute house and then went home and took a 2 hour nap. I was pretty exhausted. Plus we had plans that evening and I wanted to make sure I was feeling up to it.
Well there about 10 of us that went out to Old town and ate at Buca De Beppo. Yeah I know Italian 2 nights in a row...it was great. Below is a picture of just us girls that went out. I didn't get a picture of the guys. Then we went to Saddle Ranch to watch people get thrown off the mechanical bull. It was a fun time.

They sang to me at the restaurant, I was so embarrassed and turned about as red as that candle!
My friend Kristina and I. We can't believe we have been friends for 11 years. Same with Mira and I....its so cool!
Heith got me tickets to go see Brian Reagan on May 16th. He is a really funny comedian that I have been wanting to go see ever since Heith and I saw him on TV. We laughed so hard when we were watching him I remember crying because I was laughing so hard. He also got us both tennis rackets and some balls so we can go play together. I told him awhile ago how fun it would it be if both had rackets so we could play like we did when we went to Cancun and he remembered. He is such a great hubby! I forgot a to take a picture of my racket but it is soooo cute. It is light pink with a cool design on it. Unfortunately, the first time I used it I didn't have much luck cuz Heith beat me pretty bad. But I will get better and we will have plenty of re-matches. Thanks again to everyone who came to dinner and to every one who got me a gift (even though it wasn't necessary), and to everyone who gave me happy birthday wishes. It was a wonderful weekend and I am very blessed to have so many wonderful friends and a great family.
