Labor Day Camping

Nice Tire!

Well this camping trip started off real bad from the get go. We were on our way out to the good old woods and as soon as we hit the dirt road to drive 5 miles to the camp site we hear this hissing noise. We realized our tire was flat. So we pulled over and changed it with our spare and we were off again. Not more than 10 minutes up the dirt road we hear another hissing noise and sure enough the other back tire now has a little hole. We were lucky to find some other campers nearby that had some plugs and air to fill up the tire. I was worried that we were not even going to make it to the camp ground at the rate that we were going. Heith of course, assured me not to worry. There is no way that this can happen to all our tires. So we end up making it to the camp site and the next morning the guys were planning to get up early and go fishing. Heith wanted to drive his truck which I felt was not a good idea so I voiced my concerns with that, and he says dont worry it will be fine. After expressing a little more of my concerns, I decided to let it go. Worst case scenario we are stuck in the middle of the woods, right? Well the guys got up early and headed out to go fishing and about 3 hours later we heard some guys whistling down the street. Apparently the truck got its 3rd flat tire they had to walk about 2 miles back to the camp ground. I of course was thinking to my self na na na boo boo.... but didn't say anything. We found a friend that was camping with us that had a spare that fit our truck and we put his on. Then we decided to go into town and get new tires. I was just hoping the 4th tire would last the whole way out of the dirt road. We did have someone follow up the majority of the way out but we lost them because they got a flat tire and had to stop and change it. So anyways, it was pretty funny how it all played out but once we got some new tires it was good. We did some clay pigeon shooting off the cliff, roasted marshmellows, and played games. It was a lot of fun. We ended up leaving Sunday afternoon instead of Monday because late Saturday night and early Sunday morning, it rained so hard and it got into our tent and all our stuff was drenched. There was no way it was going to dry by the evening and I did not want to go to sleep with wet bedding in 40 degree weather. It was alot of fun though and I think we will make sure all our tires are good before we leave next year! I attached some photos of us shooting, and grilling some burgers. Hope you enjoy!
